Here at Bloom Psychology Clinic, I provide psychological services (i.e. assessment and therapy) to adolescents and adults for a range of concerns such as emotion regulation difficulties (i.e., depression, anxiety), trauma, loss, crisis/suicidality, interpersonal challenges, life transitions, identity development, and cultural adjustment difficulties. I also work with couples to improve their communication skills, engage effectively in conflict resolution, repairing attachment traumas, and developing their vulnerability and intimacy in their relationship. In addition to therapy, I also provide psychoeducational, diagnostic, personality, and career assessments to adults.

I am a doctoral candidate in counselling psychology at the University of British Columbia. Over the course of my graduate degree, I have trained in hospital outpatient settings, community mental health clinics, and university health and wellness centre with diverse populations and presentations. I completed my Pre-Doctoral Residency in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the University of Manitoba’s Student Counselling Centre. I have also published and presented on perfectionism, career, identity development, transitions for immigrants and refugees, and youth sport development. Currently, I am in the process of completing my dissertation on cultural influence on emotion regulation and I deliver services under the supervision of Dr. Christopher Cardoso and Dr. Danielle Kingdon.

Taking the first step towards therapy is a significant milestone and engaging in the change process can be difficult. I value the therapeutic relationship as a significant component in the change process. As such, I endeavor to develop a therapeutic relationship where clients can feel a safe, supported, and comfortable engaging vulnerably and being their authentic selves. I work to have a holistic understanding of clients’ lives, considering the various biological, psychological, and social factors that can impact their well-being. From that understanding I aim to work collaboratively with clients to determine the goals of therapy. I use an integrative approach drawing from a wide range of evidence-based modalities – including cognitive-behavioural, emotion-focused, and humanistic approaches – to help clients work towards their goals. My hope is that the therapeutic work allows clients to feel understood, challenges them to grow, and utilizes their existing strengths to empower them to move towards a more fulfilling life.
