Dr. Georgi Wallington

Doctorate of Clinical Psychology

I offer individual therapy services and assessment services to adults and adolescents. I specialize in working with anxiety, stress, phobias, panic, OCD, health anxiety, sleeping problems, low self-esteem and low mood. I also support people who are adjusting to health and medical conditions and regular challenges that can be faced living with a long term condition or uncertainty.

I have specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and I commonly use this approach in my sessions. I also often use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a therapy approach that is increasingly being used for a wide variety of difficulties and can be used alongside CBT. Important aims for me to achieve with you in therapy sessions, is to encourage more compassion, consider new perspectives and to increase valued activities in your life. I like to work proactively and creatively in my sessions, helping people to make meaningful changes.

I have 8 years of experience delivering therapy and 10 years working in mental health services. I completed my doctoral training in the UK, working as a registered psychologist in the UK. I also completed additional training in CBT and worked in adult services delivering CBT for a wide range of anxiety disorders and depression. I also currently work as a post-doctoral fellow at BC Children’s Hospital supporting children, and their families, with living with a medical condition and the challenges that can be faced whilst seeking medical support. I have applied for registration with the College of Psychologists BC, and I am currently practicing under the supervision of Dr. Danielle Kingdon and Dr. Christopher Cardoso.
